Magdalene comes from a very poor family who couldn’t afford her high school fees. Despite her intermittent attendance she is managing a B- average at a government-sponsored day high school, where fees are about $50 a Semester. Her last year in High School she transferred to a boarding high school which costs about $950 a year for room and board, uniforms, and textbooks. This environment will enable this bright and motivated young girl to have a future and a hope.
Update: Magda is now in Teachers College in her second year and doing extremely well!
