Mercy also comes from a very poor family. John Njane was the family’s neighbor once and observed that often they had to miss meals because of their lack. She was doing exceptionally well in primary school and fit the criterion to be sponsored through The Kenya Initiative.
A kind Canadian family decided to sponsor her through high school. She is in the top school in Kenya now and top of her class. She hopes one day to become a Doctor and give back to others what she has received herself.
Mercy says her dream is to open a huge hospital in some remote part of Kenya as sign of saying thank you and inspire kids who may be in the same position she was once in. She will graduate in late 2018 and financing is needed to put Mercy through Medical School.
Update: Mercy is waiting to enter a Medical School of her choice and to secure funds for her education.
